RAF fighter jets have been scrambled to intercept a flight from Kenya heading to Britain after a warnings of a possible “safety risk”.
A Kenya Airways aircraft from Nairobi sure for was intercepted by air pressure fighter jets and diverted to land at Stansted airport on Thursday.
stated officers attended an “incident” on the airport, and established there was “nothing of concern” aboard the aircraft. The airport remained open all through the incident.
The Ministry of Protection stated Royal Air Power Storm fighters have been launched “as a precaution this afternoon to analyze a civilian plane which was approaching the U.Ok.”
It stated the aircraft “remained involved with air visitors controllers all through, and was escorted to Stansted Airport the place it landed safely.”

The packed passenger aircraft, a Boeing 787, was met by jets bristling with weapons at round 3.45pm and pictures from some passengers after touchdown confirmed armed officers had boarded the plane.

It stated: “The crew on board have been briefed, and all security and safety precautions have been taken to make sure the security and safety of our crew and passengers on board.”
